Sirius Lounge - Code of Conduct

As a satellite radio company that prides itself on uncensored content and free speech on our airwaves, our online community intends to follow that line of thinking as far as rules and regulations go. Speak openly, share your thoughts, have fun and don’t take anything too seriously.

Having said that, it’s important to remember that this is a community made up of all kinds of people and you should treat everyone here as you’d treat them in person. (Unless you’re the type to just suckerpunch people in public. Shame on you.) Your common enjoyment of SIRIUS should be grounds enough to get along and allow people to be themselves.
We’ll deal with issues as they crop up, but here are a few things we’ll be keeping an eye out for:
1.       Too much swearing. There’s a handy filter built in but we know you’re all a creative bunch and new ones come along every day.
2.       Threatening, demeaning or derogatory behavior.
3.       Violent, obscene or sexually graphic posts or images.
4.       Spamming, selling, shilling or just generally misusing the community.
5.       Violating other people’s privacy. That includes phone numbers, email addresses, addresses and any other information that publicly identifies someone other than yourself. We also encourage the use of modified email addresses (i.e. JohnDoe AT gmail DOT com) if you want to share your own email address. It helps keep the spambots at bay.

Although we are not responsible for the behavior of community members, we do believe in Canadian law and will support it accordingly. Therefore, do not:
1.       violate any local, provincial or federal laws or post anything that encourages or incites others to do the same
2.       impersonate other people or misrepresent yourself. All memberships in the Lounge are tied directly to your subscriber information.
3.       do not use the community for spam, advertising, soliciting, promotions, junk mail collection, spam, chain letters or to sell Amway products.
4.       post any computer code or links that will harm, destroy or hamper other member’s computer usage
5.       stalk, bully or prey on other community members. That’s just creepy and wrong.
6.       violate copyright laws. If it’s not yours, either don’t use it or be sure to credit the source.

How do I help curb really bad behavior?
This community is not pre-moderated other than some curse word filtering. We want you to feel free to speak your mind. However, all community members have the right to flag posts they feel break the established code of conduct. On every thread and post there is a FLAG AS INAPPROPRIATE link. As moderators, we’ll see the flag and can delete the post outright but prefer to contact the offending community member directly so they can resolve it themselves. We value all of our subscribers and just want to give a helpful nudge so that everyone can enjoy the space equally.
We reserve the right to change this code of conduct at any time but will be sure to post updates to the SIRIUS section of the forum.
